Conference Track

We invite submissions for the Conference track, which features papers describing original, application-oriented research that advances the fusion of visual computing methods within medicine and biology. Conference track papers include both short and full papers that describe a more focused and concise research contribution and are likely to have a smaller – yet significant – scope of contribution compared to Journal track papers. Potential examples include the presentation of initial results from novel ongoing research projects or the exploration of new application areas.

Short papers draw from the same list of topics as full papers. Please visit the general call page for all submission types and the scope.

Submission Instructions

Full and survey papers must be submitted using the Eurographics SRM conference management system. Other specific information regarding the submission to come.

  • Length: We do not impose strict maximum lengths for the conference track. However, the recommended length is 4-8 pages (in VCBM 2026 LaTeX style, including all images and references). Papers should only be as long as their content justifies. Reviewers may rate a submission lower if it is perceived as being unnecessarily long given the scope of the contribution.
  • Review Process: Authors may choose to anonymize their submissions (removing names, affiliations, and explicit self-citations) to undergo a double-blind review, but this is not required for the conference track.
  • Supplementary Material: Authors are strongly encouraged to use supplementary material, such as videos or executable programs, to provide extra content.
  • Video Formats: Please use common video codecs, such as MP4 (H.264), to maximize the chances that the reviewers can view them.
  • Use of AI: Generative AI tools may not be used to generate scientific content or text. Limited use for grammar correction, language polishing, or rephrasing is permitted, but must be acknowledged in the Acknowledgement Section of the paper with a clear description of purpose and manner of use (e.g., “We used [tool name] solely for grammar correction and language polishing.”).
