Now that the dust has settled and everyone has caught up on some well-deserved sleep, I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make VCBM 2026 in Ljubljana such an unforgettable and inspiring event.

A symposium like this thrives because of its community. Thank you to our attendees, keynote speakers, paper and poster authors, sponsors, student volunteers, the steering committee, and everyone working behind the scenes to keep things running seamlessly. The discussions, presentations, and connections made throughout the week were truly outstanding.

We are pleased to highlight a funding opportunity for attendees of VCBM 2026: the EG Widening Participation Scholarships, an initiative by the Eurographics Association to support diversity and inclusivity.

Up to 5 scholarship spots are available specifically for VCBM 2026 to support individuals from underrepresented groups, including women, early-career academics, students, and researchers from underrepresented regions. There are still some spots available.

• Coverage: €250 to €1,000 in travel support plus free conference registration.

• No Presentation Required: Having a paper or presentation is not mandatory if you can demonstrate other benefits (networking, learning, etc.).

We are happy to announce that the annual Eurographics Symposium on Visual Computing for Biology and Medicine (EG VCBM) will be coming to Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 16th to 18th September, 2026. For the first time, Slovenia will host the VIS community, and we are looking forward to seeing all of you in person in our beautiful capital city!

EG VCBM addresses the state of the art in visual computing research with a strong focus on applications in biology and medicine. It provides an interdisciplinary forum for experts (researchers and practitioners) from visualization, visual analytics, computer graphics, image processing, computer vision, human-computer interfaces as well as experts from biology and medicine, jointly working on next-generation visual computing solutions for medicine, healthcare, and the biotechnology sector.

All papers (regular papers as well as short papers) will focus on a well-defined biological/medical problem, and demonstrate a significant innovation or improvement in visual computing. We are looking forward to your exciting submissions and to welcoming you to Ljubljana in September 2026.
