The Posters and Demos track provides an opportunity for researchers to present work in progress, minor improvements beyond the state-of-the-art, application showcases, and student projects in the area of visual computing for biology and medicine. Accepted works will be presented on-site as either a poster presentation, a live demonstration, or both. A dedicated session will allow authors to present their work, foster discussion, and build connections within the community.
Scope & Submission Types
We welcome the following types of submissions:
- Original Research: Application-oriented research posters and demos advancing the fusion of visual computing methods within medicine and biology.
- Research Overviews: Summaries of biomedical visualization research (e.g., highlighting a Ph.D. project or specific research group activities).
- Demos: Live demonstrations of educational tools, training environments (VR/AR), or systems that show the potential of modern technology for students and practitioners.
- Group Overviews: Presentations of the current work of an entire research group or center, including upcoming projects or open vacancies.
- Open Problems: Posters describing unique, exciting research problems to a broad professional audience to promote new collaborations (e.g., defined by a domain scientist).
- Applications & Tools: Showcases of applications or frameworks that address challenges in developing visual computing solutions.
Suggested topics and methods mirror those of the General Call, including visual computing for medical applications, -omics research, medical simulation, and analysis of biomedical data.
