Welcome to EuroVIS 2022 in Rome!
The 24th edition of EuroVis will be held in Rome, Italy. The EuroVis 2022 will be organized by Advanced Visualization & Visual Analytics REsearch Group (A.WA.RE) of Sapienza University of Rome.
EuroVis is the annual Visualization Conference organized by the Eurographics Working Group on Data Visualization. It has been a Eurographics and IEEE co-supported international visualization symposium held in Europe annually since 1999, as a conference since 2012.
The exciting and vibrant field of Visualization is an increasingly important research area due to its wide range of applications in many disciplines. In general, our ability to collect, store, and archive data vastly exceeds our ability to derive useful knowledge and insight from it. This is a ubiquitous problem. Data visualization is key to gaining an understanding of large, complex data sets by exploiting the human visual system. Data visualization leverages computer graphics in order to provide a visual overview, explore, analyze, and present phenomena which are often difficult to understand.
The objective of the EuroVis conference is to create and strengthen connections between visualization researchers and practitioners, to foster collaborations, and to draw more researchers in Europe to enter this rapidly growing area of research. EuroVis has an expanded scope to include all areas of visualization and a steadily more wide-spread visibility that allows achieving a more wide-spread impact.
The covid situation in Italy is being kept under control. As of May 1, the masks remained mandatory only on public transportation and in hospital or healthcare settings. In all public places the mask is recommended. (Covid situation in Italy)
Nevertheless, to ensure your and our safety during the conference, the following rules will apply:
- The masks, FFP2 grade, will be mandatory during the conference (we will provide each participant with 5 new FFP2 masks at registration time) ;
- We will insure a strong safe distance along the sessions (the main room for plenary sessions has 1100 seats);
- People will be invited to chat in the Angelicum garden.
Currently, travelers are free to visit Italy provided that they have the green/covid vaccination card and, likely, after May 31st rules will be more relaxed”. Stay tuned on: Rules for traveling to Italy
The main conference is preceded by co-located events which will be held in the same location on June 13th.
