On September 3, two satellite events will be taking place in the same venue as VCBM. Both events are open to the public and free of charge.
Wednesday morning, VisBio 2014 workshop will bring together experts from biology, bioinformatics, and visualization. It is an expert forum related to the WWTF project “Visual Computing: Illustrative Visualization”, jointly organized with our colleagues from the University of Bergen, Norway, within the research project Physioillustration. The event features several invited talks by local and international experts from biology, bioinformatics, and visualization, such as Wolfgang Busch of Gregor Mendel Institute of Molecular Plant Biology.
Contact for this Satellite Event: Ivan Viola.
Wednesday afternoon, the bi-annual meeting of GI Fachgruppe “Visual Computing in Biology and Medicine“ (FG Medvis) will include talks, discussions and software demos in order to exchange research ideas and results. FG Medvis deals with image analysis, visualization and interaction in the field of image-based diagnostics and therapy in biology and medicine. The group is a subdivision of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.G. and cooperates with related organizations, especially with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Computer-und Roboter-Assistierte Chirurgie CURAC.
