Most submissions require two videos: a long presentation and a short fast forward. Please read and follow the instructions carefully, so that everybody can have a smooth experience. And please make sure you use a high-quality microphone to reduce audience fatigue.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Fast Forward Videos

Fast forward videos are required for full papers, short papers, and state of the art reports (STARs). The fast forwards will be shown during the Fast Forward session, on the website, in the stream before the sessions in the form of trailers, and possibly in social media announcements.

The purpose of a Fast Forward is to advertise your work and invite the viewer to attend your presentation. As such, it should communicate the topic of your publication but also be as captivating as possible. Be creative!

Your fast forward video should be at least 20 seconds and at most 26 seconds long.

We will add the title, author names, and the presentation time at the start of each video. Therefore, you don’t need to include such information.

Do not include content that cannot be distributed (e.g., copyrighted photos or music you got from the internet).

Fast forward videos are public and will stay online after the conference.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Presentation Videos

Presentation videos replace the traditional oral conference presentations. The length depends on your submission (papers: 18-20 min, short papers: 9-10 min, STARs: 70-75 min, educational papers: 7-20 min [see email], lab presentations: 4-5 min, doctoral consortium: 6-8 min, posters 2-3 min).

Please do not significantly under-run and absolutely do not over-run these lengths.

We recommend not to use background music, as background music makes it harder to understand the presenter, especially for non-native speakers.

You are welcome to include animations or short videos, whatever fits your work.

Include a title slide, just like you would do in an oral presentation.

You can choose to keep the video public after the conference in the submission system (recommended).

We recommend including the speaker in the video to make the presentation more enticing. We have prepared an OBS template to facilitate this task. Other options are built-in tools in some presentation programs, or, for an even more lively experience, the “Get into your slides” technique by Cem Yuksel (YouTube).

Do not include content that cannot be distributed (e.g., copyrighted photos or music you got from the internet).

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Poster Videos

Poster videos should be a blend between Fast Forwards and a quick presentation. They will be shown in the poster session and on the website, and possibly in social media announcements.

The video should be self-contained and explanatory. It should communicate the content of your publication and invite the audience to watch and read.

Your poster video should be at least 2 minutes and at most 3 minutes long.

We recommend not to use background music, as background music makes it harder to understand the presenter, especially for non-native speakers.

We will add the title, author names, and the presentation time at the start of each video.
